P821 MDN Tape is based on Marc Daniel Nelson’s personal Stephens 821 2” tape machine, used at Producer’s Workshop and renowned for producing classic albums like “The Wall,” “Aja,” and “Rumours.” The P821’s signature sound is remarkably open and rich in tonal character, as the tape machine has virtually no electronics and no transformers, resulting in an incredibly wide soundstage with no harsh compression or limiting. It was the first plug-in that truly let you hear the reaction of the tape, and now with the P821 MDN Tape plug-in, you can recreate that experience—it’s simply incredible and unlike anything else.
