The Love Experiment started in 2010 as a neo soul collective. In the beginning the goal was to create music that was timeless and could build upon the foundation laid by the legendary Soulquarian collective of Erykah Badu, Outkast, Qtip, The Roots, Roy Hargrove, Common, D’Angelo, and J Dilla. After ten years of touring and recording the band began creating sample packs. After the success of our Neo Soul pack on Splice Originals the group decided to return to our neo soul roots to bring a pack that oozes soul.

An ode to timeless music, you can find songstarters to inspire your next creations, hard hitting drum one shots and loops, and smooth vocals to accent any production. Inspired by the groundbreaking production of D’angelo’s “Voodoo” record, the samples in this pack are intentionally behind the beat and laid back. You’ll find a mix of Dilla inspired breakbeats, RH Factor horn licks, live drums processed with analog equipment to emulate Ahmir “Questlove’s” Thompson’s drum production, silky bass lines inspired by Pino Pallidino and guitar loops inspired by Charlie Hunter and Isaiah Sharkey.

Soulful textures, deep grooves, and hazy melodies combine to give you the perfect equation for head nodding and neck breaking beats. You can find 27 drum grooves in various tempos both clean and processed through reel to reel tape as well as 60 melodic song starters ready to be chopped, flipped, and resampled.

This pack features original compositions performed by Andrew Burglass on guitar and keys, Jaime Woods on vocals, Syl Dubenion on sax and vocals, Parker “LoQi” McAllister on bass, Jake Baldwin on trumpet, Charles “BLVK Samurai” Burchell on drums, production, and keys, with additional production by Frankie Leroux.
