Note is a place to form ideas, experiment with sounds, and find direction. Use Ableton Live's selection of drum kits, synths, and melodic instruments to express your ideas or play until inspiration strikes. Or create your own sonic palette by using your phone's microphone to record the sounds around you into Note's sampler instruments.

Take your ideas even further by leaving the app and sending your project to Live using Ableton Cloud. Open your project from Live's browser and continue working - you can edit all MIDI notes, and all samples and sounds in the Note are exactly the same. Ableton Note users will receive a free license of Ableton Live Lite - the simple, intuitive software used by musicians, producers, and DJs around the world to write, record, and perform.

Start with the beat:
• Choose from 56 drum sampler kits
• Tap out a beat using a grid of 16 pads
• Quantize your beats to fix loose timing
• Push notes to correct mistakes
• Add more layers of rhythm
• Use note repeat to create beat repeats
• Change parameters to shape your sound
• Experiment with effects or apply wiggle for variations

Start with the melody:
• Choose from 261 synth sounds and 36 melodic sampler instruments
• Play your melody or chord progression using the 25-pad grid or piano roll
• Set a key and scale for instant harmonic results
• More layers of harmony in dubbing
• Change parameters to shape your sound
• Add effects for sound design experiments

Sampling your environment:
• Create your own kits by recording percussive sounds into Note's drum sampler
• Record pitched sounds to create your own melodic sampler instruments
• Manipulate samples by cutting, filtering or reselection
• Shape or change your voice with effects
• Import your own samples or audio directly from video

Capturing Improvisation:
• Play something and then tap the capture button to keep it
• Play at a tempo that feels comfortable and Note will detect it
• The annotation will recognize the length of the phrase and create a loop

• Quantize it, add to it, or change the sound
• Connect MIDI hardware to play keys and change the sound of the instrument

Create a variant:
• Notes have a grid-based conversation view layout
• Double looping to create variation within a clip
• Duplicate your clips and create different versions of your ideas
• Create eight tracks with up to eight clips across eight scenes
