Software Introduction

Since the release of the first version in 2003, Yamaha has released a major cross-version upgrade, VOCALOID 6, just before its 20th anniversary. Since the addition of VOCALOID:AI's AI technology, its singing engine has become more natural and delicate, and more powerful editing tools can adjust parameters such as accent, vibrato, rhythm, etc.

VOCALOID 6 new features:

  • Doubling: Create harmony
  • Vocalo Changer: Import vocal data to recreate your own singing style and quickly apply your own singing style to the VOCALOID voice library
  • Multi-language: Now you can input lyrics in multiple mixed languages, allowing one voice bank to sing Chinese, English and Japanese at the same time (Chinese support will be supported in the future, not yet in the initial version)
  • VOCALOID:AI: Generates emotional vocals based on artificial intelligence technology, which is much more natural than before
  • Support MIDI export
  • New editing tools can adjust parameters such as accent, vibrato, rhythm, etc.
  • Supports ARA 2. You can directly call all the operations of the Vocaloid editor in DAWs that support ARA 2 (almost all mainstream DAWs support it), and the playback pointer can also be synchronized

Basic Introduction

VOCALOID (English: Vocaloid, Japanese: ボーカロイド) is a vocal synthesizer technology and applications based on this technology, developed by a research team led by Kenmochi Hideki at Pompeu Fabra University in Spain. Initially, the project had no commercial purpose, but Yamaha helped commercialize it, eventually transforming it into the product "VOCALOID." VOCALOID5 was officially released on July 12, 2018. The VOCALOID5 interface changed from green and black to blue and black, offering over 1,000 preset phrases and pit parameters in a preset format. The VOCALOID5 editor does not support 32-bit systems.
