Welcome to Rave Generation: Filterbank.
This state-of-the-art audio plug-in brings your tracks to life with advanced analog filter modeling, a complex modulation system, and authentic distortion characteristics. Designed for producers, sound designers, and performers who demand exceptional sound quality and creative flexibility, Filterbank delivers the warmth and character of legendary analog hardware in a precision-built digital environment.
Filterbank was born from a deep study of analog circuit behavior, capturing the subtle nonlinearities, component interactions, and unique characteristics of analog filters. Whether you're crafting experimental soundscapes, injecting dynamics into static sounds, or adding strong personality to a mix, Filterbank delivers authentic analog warmth and character, helping you elevate your productions to new heights.
Main Features
- Advanced simulation modelingA carefully designed state variable filter architecture with nonlinear feedback paths, capacitor emulation, and component interaction modeling delivers authentic analog sound.
- Dual filter systemTwo independent filters support lowpass, bandpass, and highpass modes, combined with Moog-style resonant feedback and precise blending capabilities. Filters can be configured in parallel or series for ultimate flexibility.
- Multi-level distortionIntroduce authentic analog warmth or aggressive harmonic enhancement with a variety of distortion algorithms such as asymmetrical processing, DC offset management, and saturation of dynamic components.
- Modulation MatrixIt integrates LFO, ADSR and AR envelope generators, supports multiple trigger sources such as audio, side chain, MIDI, etc., and realizes dynamic control of filter parameters.
- Advanced Envelope SystemEquipped with AR (Attack-Release) amplitude control and ADSR modulation, it has analog-style timing characteristics and supports multiple trigger modes, including envelope follower function.
- Thermal drift simulationSubtly modulate the harmonic distortion characteristics to recreate the natural "breathing" of analog hardware, making sounds evolve more organically over time.
- Precise pitch trackingDynamically adjusts the filter frequency based on the input pitch, creating a musical filter response that matches the source sound.
- High-quality signal processingSupport for 4x oversampling, combined with advanced anti-aliasing processing, maintains pure sound quality even at extreme settings.
- MIDI integrationFull support for MIDI CC control, with a dedicated note trigger system, perfect for live performance and sequence modulation.
Top control area
- INPUT: Controls input gain and drive. Higher settings introduce analog-style saturation and harmonic enhancement, significantly affecting the overall tonal color.
- FM (Frequency Modulation): Adjusts the amount of frequency modulation applied to both filters, creating complex timbre variations, sidebands, and aggressive sound changes.
- ADSR control: Includes four stages: A (attack), D (decay), S (sustained), and R (release), which control the envelope shape.
- SPEED: Controls the LFO rate, from very slow to audio rate, suitable for subtle dynamics or frequency modulation effects.
- DEPTH: Bidirectional control of LFO intensity, center for no modulation, left and right offsets adjust the phase relationship.
- AM (Amplitude Modulation): Controls the amplitude modulation depth, which can produce vibrato, ringing modulation or gating effects.
- PAR<>SER: Switch dual filters to parallel or series processing.
- BYP<>EFF: Adjust the dry/wet signal balance, with the left side showing the dry sound and the right side showing the 100% effect sound.
Switch control area
- HI BOOST/HI CUT/NORMAL: A three-position switch that controls the pre-filter equalization. Boost high frequencies, set to standard response, or cut high frequencies.
- SENSITRIG/NORMAL/LIMIT: Three-position switch to control the trigger sensitivity of AR and ADSR envelope.
- +OCTAVE/NORMAL/+QUINT: Three-position switch for harmonic enhancement (raising an octave or increasing the fifth interval).
- TRACK/NORMAL/TRACK LOW: Controls the pitch tracking function, adapting to full-band or low-frequency materials.
Filter control area
- FREQ 1 / FREQ 2: Set the cutoff frequency of filter 1/2.
- RESO 1 / RESO 2: Adjust the resonant feedback of filter 1/2.
- LBH 1 / LBH 2: Smoothly switch the filter mode between low pass, band pass and high pass.
- BLH 1 / BLH 2: Advanced filter response correction control.
- HARMONICS: The knob selects the harmonic relationship of Filter 2 relative to Filter 1 or free control.
Envelope and trigger control area
- AR TRIG: Select the trigger source for the AR envelope (Off, Sidechain, MIDI).
- A (Attack Time) / R (Release Time): Control the attack and release time of the AR envelope respectively.
Bottom panel control area
- DIST TYPE: Select the distortion type (Clean, Warm, Aggressive, Extreme).
- TRIG ADSR / TRIG AR: Select the trigger source of ADSR/AR envelope.
- ADSR SENS / AR SENS: Adjust the audio threshold for envelope triggering.
- THD DRIFT: Controls the amount of thermal drift simulation, increasing or decreasing the "breathing" effect.
- NOISE: Adds calibrated pink noise to the signal path.
- LFO SYNC: Synchronize the LFO rate to the tempo of the host DAW.
- OUTPUT: Adjust the final output gain after all processing.
Additional Controls
- LFO MODE: Switch LFO mode (Restart, Normal, Sawtooth).
- ADSR MODE: Switch ADSR mode (Normal, Freeze, Envelope Follow).
- OVERSAMPLE: Enable 4x oversampling to reduce high-frequency distortion artifacts (increases CPU load).
