Hibernation is a Sound Pack for Waldorf Iridium and Quantum. This preset collection features 83 Waldorf Iridium patches best suited to electronic music like Ambient, Techno and Electronica. Every preset has been created from scratch.

Expect powerful basses, warm pads with a nice retro vibe, trippy dub chords and complex organic textures. Lead sounds ranging from dreamy to aggressive plus a selection of swirling arpeggios can act as a great starting point for your next project. Furthermore you’ll get a selection of samples consisting of field recordings and synthesizer pads.

No doubt that Waldorf Iridium is one of the most powerful synthesizers available. To begin with, it offers FM synthesis with six operators, each with its own envelope for pitch and level.

Secondly, you’ll get a powerful sampling engine that supports multi-samples and granular synthesis. Furthermore, there’s a complex wavetable section that even enables you to load your own wavetables or to create phrases using the internal speech synthesizer. Finally, there’s a Resonator perfect for strings and percussion sounds as well as a flexible virtual analog engine.

Did I already mention that you can even combine the different synthesis forms with each other So why not using a Wavetable oscillator as an operator in your FM section, for example The possibilities are almost endless.

And this is only the oscillator section. Now imagine what you can do with its dozens of filter models. Or with the internal effect engine. Or with the incredibly flexible modulation matrix…
Waldorf Iridium Patches – Sound Design

As sound designers, we’ve obviously enjoyed to make heavy use of the vast features Iridium offers. Therefore you’ll get a wide range of different sounds using the synth engines extensively.

But because we’re also making music, one of our main goals was to create a sound pack with presets for Iridium that you can actually use in your productions. Not only a feature-laden show off that sounds nice in the beginning but is useless when it comes to making music.
For Live and Studio

In order to play sounds expressively, we’ve assigned the most relevant parameters to aftertouch, velocity, and mod wheel. But instead of limiting ourselves to that standard modwheel-controls-vibrato-assignment you’ll discover patches that completely transform by turning the mod-wheel. So in combination with aftertouch and velocity you’ll be able to easily create exciting sonic landscapes.
