About the instrument:

The ney is a wind instrument made of reed and has a long body with 6 or 7 holes that can be covered with the fingers to create different sounds, resembling a flute. The sound of the ney is very deep, otherworldly, and impressive – it is thought that it represents the human as the symbol of ‘absolute’. The origin of the word ‘ney’ dates back many years, first used in history in Sumerian society. The first neyzen known is Mevlâna J. Rûmî. In 18th-century Istanbul, the majority of the musicians were Mevlevi dervishes. Dervishes also taught their pupils how to play the ney, thus, neyzens have been raised in lineages over the centuries.

Expect to find 742 MB of raw content featuring 130 beautifully played ney loops at 90/110/130 BPM. Including both dry and wet versions of each recording, you’ll have a total of 260 files! All loops are key and tempo-labelled for ease of use. All sounds are ready to fit straight in your tracks.

This instrument can be used to accompany other instruments or is perfectly usable as a leading melodic component. Whether you’re producing organic folk music, experimental, cinematic, ambient, meditation, live lounge, or electronica, the ney will add bespoke sonic characteristics to your compositions.
