In his family, Sabar has been passed down for generations, and he now shares his knowledge through Sabar classes.

 

In this pack, Laye showcases his skills in playing the Mbalax, a hand and stick drum, and the Thiol, a thin goblet drum played with one hand and stick. These rhythms originate from songs that have been played in Laye’s tradition for centuries.
