A truly spectacular orchestral Harp module just got better, welcome to the definitive edition; HARP REDUX.

Recorded at Air Studios, Lyndhurst Hall, one of the greatest scoring stages in the world and showcasing the extraordinary talent of legendary harpist Skaila Kanga, Spitfire Harp is a new benchmark in expressiveness and sound for commercially available orchestral instruments. The delicate sound blossoms beautifully in the Hall, and the loudest layers ring the walls of Lyndhurst with urgency. As with all of our modules, this is designed specifically for the media composer and we hope it will be a valued tool for music makers to use for generations to come.

The main patch contains the following articulations at up to 4 dynamics and 8 RR:

Normale – normal playing
Prs de la table – near the soundboard
Flageolet – harmonics

With, for each of these:

Sons touffs – damped (sus ped up)
Laissez vibrer – let ring (sus ped down)
Then we also have:

Bisbigliando – unmeasured trem

…and of course
Glissandi – sweeps

These are playable in every key, in the following scales: major, minor harmonic, minor melodic, pentatonic, diminished, whole tone. We have recorded full sweeps up and down, fast and slow, and split the harp into four registers, also fast and slow, up and down, and then recorded a swirly gliss, up and down.

All instruments have the ability to mix and/or mute mic positions from the front panel: Close mics, Decca tree and Ambient outriggers. Route the spots into your centre channel, the tree in L&R and the ambients in Ls & Rs, and you also have a perfect 5.0 perc instrument. Or simply keep in stereo and mix according to taste. All controls can be fully automated.

REDUX EDITION:

A New Articulation – ‘Slid’ notes – specifically recorded and designed for glissando building, but also a great new playable sound in its own right!
Pedalling Options – you can now set the harp pedals graphically and then play the white notes – makes playing glisses easy!
Rescripted From The Ground Up – using the engine from our latest BML range. Fully tweaked for smoother dynamic response.
