The Cuatro is a traditional instrument from Venezuela. It has four strings and a small shaped guitar body.

 

The Cuatro for Kontakt contains 12 articulations and multiple modes to experiment with. Created for the full version of Kontakt 5.6 or above The Cuatro delivers an exquisite sound brimming with authenticity.

 

OVERVIEW

 

The Cuatro was sampled using a beautiful long-neck cuatro (17 frets) from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. It has been used for over 15 years in many movie scores, TV series, and music productions.

 

The Cuatro was meticulously sampled to capture its authentic timbre. Each note has four dynamics with 4 RR per dynamic, a total of 16 samples per note. Besides chords, palm mutes, and many other articulations, I have created additional modes: Octave, Double Cuatro, and Andean Tuning. These modes will give you a fresh palette for creating big and rich sounding arrangements for ensembles or solo cuatro pieces.

 

Custom-made equipment was used for this presentation. Krystalos Audio technology was present in all the chains of the recording process. I have designed Krystalos Audio optimizers to produce an organic and detailed analog sound with the latest digital equipment.
