This pack focuses on frame drums and reed-based instruments. It provides the modern producer with the distinctive sounds of southern Italy traditional music, pushed to their sonic boundaries by musicians that reinterpret their heritage with a contemporary twist. Expect to find a variety of modern and vintage handmade frame drums and tambourines from percussionist Andrea Piccioni huge collection, together with its custom modified olive wood drums, playing both traditional and contemporary patterns. Dive deep in the unexpected tones that an organetto, a traditional button accordion, can produce when in the hands of Massimiliano Morabito, who explores traditional virtuoso playing as well as extended techniques: mechanic tremolos to create an “organic lfo” feel, rhythmical breaths produced by the bellows, sweeping harmonics in chords and drones. Explore the sounds of armonica and scacciapensieri as colourful add-ons suitable to different styles.
