Vir2 Instruments is proud to introduce MOJO: Upright Bass, a premier member of the MOJO family of instruments. We recorded acclaimed jazz bassist Stefan "Pista" Bartus playing a 150-year-old exquisite double bass on an analog console to develop the most advanced and realistic upright bass virtual instrument imaginable.

With six dynamic layers, up to eight round speakers, eight articulations, five microphone positions, true legato, and a host of carefully curated presets and MIDI grooves, you can take your stand-up bass performance to new heights. Humanize your sound with velocity-dependent note repeat articulation switching, beautifully realistic vibrato sustain, simulated tremolo based on real vibrato curves, adjustable string buzz, and a fully customizable FX suite.

The Instrument page offers both global and specific articulation controls. Choose from 20 different presets and delve deeper into customizing your vibrato, legato control, chords, and articulations, such as performance repeats, taps and pulls, harmonies, and even percussion! You also get tools like a pitch changer, velocity curve control, and humanization.

The Performance page allows you to filter a large number of custom MIDI Performances by
Category, beat, key, and scale. Styles include jazz, blues, bossa nova, Latin, funk, and rock, as well as fills, endings, and percussion. Use these as inspiration to quickly assemble a bass part!

The Mixer page includes controls for all five microphone positions: Neck, Body Close and Far, Stereo Room Close and Far, and a full mixdown option (premixes of all five mic positions for easier memory loading). Each mic can also be connected to its own output. The Neck mic provides detailed string sounds, the Body mic adds richer bass, and the Far mic adds room tones. Add close or far mics for added depth.
